The Scotsman has launched an app for the iPhone which will combine many features of its newspaper website as well as digital reader software which will allow subscribers to browse an interactive edition of the newspaper.

The app has been created by specialist company PageSuite and will cost £1.79 for a three-month subscription and is the first smartphone application created by Johnston Press, owner of The Scotsman.
