Simon Evans, deputy business editor of The Independent on Sunday, has joined Weber Shandwick as its head of business media.

Evans will be tasked with strengthening the company’s strategic media capabilities and will provide corporate counsel to key clients across the UK and Ireland.

He will report to Jo-ann Robertson, head of UK corporate communications and public affairs, having worked at the Independent of Sunday for nearly three years. He previously worked as senior city correspondent on London business newspaper City A.M.
