Bentley hires Connect for UK and Europe dealer marketing

Bentley Motors has appointed Connect Group to handle its dealer marketing in the UK and Europe.

The Wolverhampton agency has handled the luxury car manufacturer's UK dealer marketing since 2004, but its new brief will see its workload increase threefold to cover another 59 dealers across Europe.

Peter Grant, Bentley's UK dealer marketing manager, said: “Connect’s brief is far reaching from developing dealer marketing strategy to implementation of campaigns. The agency will support our dealerships with marketing collateral, advertising, event planning, direct mail, CRM and digital."

On the back of the appointment the 80-strong agency says it has made three new staff appointments to help cover the extra work.

New arrivals Michaela Märkl, who moves from Germany, Celine Delaunay from Nouveau Monde DDB France and Oliver Compton from Mitsubishi UK will work on the account with Connect's Kim Austin.

The appointment comes as Bentley prepares to launch new models - the Continental Supersports and a new flagship Bentley Mulsanne.

Very cool, pity the same can't be said for the interview process and the lack of any courtesy in letting unsuccessful candidates know that they had not been selected.....shame to spoil a good news story but this is not the first time this has happened with Connect.

How dare they not choose you Anon 10.39!

Could it possibly be that, after what appears to be two interviews at Connect, they perhaps think you're a bit cack?!

no experience with connect, but in general the HR policy and attitude to recruitment in the industry is pretty poor

How the hell does a comments section about an article on Bentley, turn into this whingeing, wining unrelated nonsense!

What in god's name is wrong with you people!

Ahh anon 11.49 such razor sharp wit, however not wanting to be too hard on you, I am very pleased to say that I have not had the pleasure of applying for any jobs at Connect, never had the need, always been headhunted and I've worked at the biggest regional and global agency groups, naa cack as a description doesn't come mind.

I do know individuals that have got through to the final round, prepared presentations and then..............silence.......not great for an agency that has a PR company and is recruiting to work on an account specifically aimed at promoting a premium customer experience with a luxuary brand.

As I said, cool brand, and I'm sure great work will be produced but the agency have let themselves down again with the most important asset in any agency.... people.

"agency have let themselves down again with the most important asset in any agency.... people."

The people at Connect are all very good at what they do. So they made a couple of bloopers in recruitment. Dry your eyes and move on...
