Manchester City is promoting the £1.5m facelift for its stadium's corporate hospitality by transforming a lift at Manchester Airport into one of the new luxury boxes.

The  football club has worked with its media agency, PHD North, to transform the terminal 3 lift to give passengers a taste of the new corporate facilities that await at City's Eastlands stadium.

Stainless steel walls have been swapped for bright, ceiling to floor graphics depicting the interior of the Platinum Box – the new design for City's corporate hospitality boxes.

Ian Dolan, media manager at PHD North who helped develop and broker the work, said: “We wanted to communicate the luxury and elegance of the Platinum Box experience, and with 20-30 seconds of dwell time, a targeted, high quality business audience, the business lounge lift space was perfect for enabling us to connect with this time poor audience."

Man City announced plans to get the builders in and upgrade its corporate facilities yesterday. The Manchester Airport lift shows the walnut panels and stools, high glass tables and LCD TVs they will be kitted out with.
