Robbie Earle may find it ‘difficult’ to ever find another role as a TV pundit following his sacking by ITV, having supposedly passed on his allocation of World Cup tickets to a third party, breaching FIFA rules.
Earle has been fired as a pundit by the commercial channel after it transpired that his tickets were allegedly used by Dutch beer company Bavaria for a guerilla marketing stunt.
Gary McCall, director of sports marketing agency Banana Kick, said that with the number of ‘pundits’ available, it would be ‘difficult’ for Earle to return to a role within sports media in future.
“There is no shortage of pundit talent available and if he has sold on tickets I don’t see one of the other channels taking him on,” McCall said.
“He has had the privileged role on TV, one that most of us would aspire to and he has broken the trust of both his employers and the public with many waiting in the wings to take over. We haven’t seen Big Ron re-emerge since his ‘off mic’ indiscretions."
Earle has said that he received no money for the tickets and that he did not believe he was doing anything wrong.

"I saw nothing wrong with flogging my 400 match tickets" but - the real criminal is the one who allocated him 400 tickets for family & friends at an event in South Africa, what did you think he would do with these tickets?
