Following England’s 4-1 defeat to Germany in the first knockout stages of the World Cup yesterday, Kia Motors UK has launched a press campaign to promote that at least its seven year warranty is able to beat the Germans.
London agency Innocean devised two creatives, one in case England beat Germany, and the one which is currently running, following the defeat, to promote the company’s seven-year warranty for every model in the Kia range, a deal which began in January.
The campaign will run this morning in The Times and The Sun.
Simon Hetherington, marketing director of Kia Motors UK, commented: “We know the result we want to see, but placing advertising in advance means being ready for anything – so our advertising agency Inocean came up with two alternative treatments. This is all part of our World Cup tie-up with News International that has seen Kia working closely with The Sun, The Times, The News of the World and Sky on a variety of projects to maximise our involvement as official partners with the FIFA 2010 World Cup.”
