Super-fast broadband project NorthernNet has launched a new online portal intended to foster collaboration among the north's digital and creative agencies.
The NorthernKnowledge site provides a searchable database so digital and creative companies can showcase their work and find project partners.
The site allows anyone who is commissioning a creative project or looking for freelance support to search the business directory and upload a brief.
Creative companies can upload their profiles, search for new business opportunities and receive email alerts when new briefs are uploaded.
In the spirit of the project, the site was created by Manchester agency Code Computerlove in collaboration with Leeds digital outfit Fuse8.
The NorthernNet project was established to provide the creative industries in the north of England with a secure, high-speed digital network offering transfer speeds of up to 1gb. The network can be accessed from 17 Media Access Bureaux located in the north.
Mercedes Clark-Smith, project director of NorthernNet, said: “Code Computerlove created the NorthernKnowledge networking and collaboration site to be as user friendly as possible to encourage digital and creative agencies to sign up and use it as a business tool. By encouraging collaboration through the site, as well as NorthernNet events, we can enable all sectors to expand and benefit from the project.”
