Mike Bennett, chief executive of Bristol Media is to become Place Making Director for Bristol, working towards promoting the city in a bid to develop initiatives, projects and events which will help Bristol stand out against other European cities.

Bennett will take up the role from September, although he will continue as a director of Bristol Media.

Paul Appleby will also continue as chair, while Chris Thurling, managing director of 3Sixty, is set to join the Bristol Media board.

While wishing Bennett well in his new role, Paul Appleby, commented: “We think it’s great news and are really excited by the opportunities it will create. Bristol is a fantastic city and Mike’s new role will provide great synergies with Bristol Media for the benefit of our members and the wider sector.”
