Scott Steedman, former marketing and commercial domain leader for Uefa marketing body Team Marketing, based in Switzerland, has joined Southampton Football Club as its new head of sales and marketing.

Steedman will take up his new role at the end of August where he will join Southampton’s executive committee and be made responsible for corporate sales, sponsorship, marketing and the ticket office at the club, reporting into Nicola Cortese, executive chairman.

Before joining the marketing team at Uefa, Steedman was director of sport at Material Marketing and an account director at The Sports Business, both in Glasgow.

On Friday The Drum reported that Greig Mailer, marketing and communications manager for the Scottish Premier League would be leaving his role to move to Switzerland to join Uefa’s marketing team.
