Manchester design agency Ahoy Creative has helped launch a new website aimed at parents looking for a grown up break without their young ones.

Away Without the Kids is an online directory of UK holiday accommodation targeted at those mums and dads lucky enough to have found a babysitter.

It allows them to find a range of resorts including country retreats, coastal getaways, small hotels, boutique B&Bs or 'something different'.

The site has been started by full-time mothers Joanne and Helen following the success of their sister company A Break With the Kids, which they say is receiving more than 12,000 hits a month.

Ahoy handled strategy, branding, design, development, email marketing and SEO for both companies and is aiming for the Away Without... site to match the popularity of Away With the Kids.

Joanne said: "We started with a fabulous idea and a very strong belief - but very little money.  Ahoy listened and gave us a chance and bought into the enthusiasm - thankfully!

"We've emerged into an established, reputable and well-ranked site in an incredibly short space of time due to investing lots of time, energy and money to make the site what it is today."

Ahoy director Mark Stringer added: "It's so nice to see start ups push so passionately with their ideas regardless of their situation. The ladies involved all deserve a medal.

"They are the perfect client because they ask lots of questions and are willing to learn. We have had to be accommodating (excuse the pun) as they would sometimes bring their children into the studio to attend some meetings but It's been a really good project to work on."

Not going to happen. If you have kids, you know where you want to go without them. You don't need a spurious directory of random places to help you.

Sorry passionate ladies, but in the words of Duncan Bannatyne, 'This is loodicrous. Am oot'.

Bon voyage....

Ahoy - "Manchester"? Since when did Manchester have an SK postcode? Don't be embarrassed about not being 'in town' lads and lasses, nothing to be ashamed of!

Seemingly not, anonymous - hence our very well received, not yet officially launched, web-site.

Fortunately you haven't been asked to come in!
