A campaign has been rolled out by Scottish Natural Heritage (SNH) to encourage more people to enjoy the outdoors, created by The Leith Agency.

The ‘Enjoy the Outdoors campaign includes an outdoor poster campaign which will run for six weeks on bus rears, telephone kiosks, escalator panels, cross track posters and floor graphics and wall posters within the Glasgow Underground.

Local and national leaflets to promote easy to explore routes in Glasgow will also be handed out, with additional routes being launched for Edinburgh and Aberdeen in August.

The will be distributed by SNH through mail outs to partner organisations and placed in racking in high footfall venues such as visitor centres and supermarkets.

A media partnership has been set up with the Glasgow Evening Times which has distributed 75, 000 copies of the leaflet as an inset, with promotional tips for getting out and about in the city and promoting the four local routes, as well a guided ranger walk along the Clyde.

Four members of the field marketing team have been employed to circulate the leaflets during the six week period of the campaign, and will do so using a branded bicycle and offering free frozen fruit smoothies.

A Facebook page has also been set up for ‘Nature on your doorstep’ where users can share their thoughts on how best to enjoy the outdoors.

Not a fan... The target group wouldn't care about this, would it?

Facebook page is flying.....SNH can no longer be allowed to spend public money like this given the perilous state of public finances.

Great bit of innovation from MediaCom and Primesight on the Glasgow Subway.

it’s not particularly innovative (well maybe for glasgow underground). Seen this done before as a ski-lift chair and other variations (instead of a park bench) for a travel company recently. Are you Mediacom or Primesight per chance?
