Bulmers cider and pizza delivery firm Domino's have become the latest brands to unveil smartphone applications.
The Bulmers app, available for iPhone and Android, sits alongside its 'perfect summer' ad campaign by directing users to the nearest pub with a beer garden.
Heineken-owned Bulmers has worked with online pub directory, useyourlocal.com, to create the app. It makes use of augmented reality and GPS to direct people to their chosen pub.
Bulmers brand manager, Douglas Cook, said: "Mobile apps are the perfect way to catch people while they are out and about. At this time of year it’s all about being spontaneous, getting down to your local and enjoy a delicious pint of Bulmers in the sun.”
That said, if the rain-soaked view from The Drum's office is anything to go by they might want to wait a while yet before heading for the beer garden.
For people staying indoors Domino's has now released the smartphone app its marketing chief Simon Wallis mooted to The Drum in July.
The Domino's iPhone app lets users order meals and locate their nearest stores. It also comes with a 'pizza slot machine' that presents indecision sufferers with a random meal choice.

Brilliant, my nearest Bulmer-serving 'cider-garden' is a mere 14.3 miles away. A taxi home will be a snip at around 35 quid.
"Mobile apps are the perfect way to catch people while they are out and about" - LOL .
Cider and Pizza apps. Two of my favourites. Lovely.

Whoever decided Bulmers should launch a beer garden app this week clearly doesn't live in the North West.
Missed the boat...summer's over, maybe next year.
Another example of agencies coining it in from clients jumping on the app bandwagon.
