STV has said that it believes that the report published by the Scottish Television Broadcast and Production Working Group will play a ‘strong’ part in developing the creative industries of Scotland.

Bobby Hain, managing director of Broadcasting and Regulatory Affairs has told The Drum that the broadcaster welcomed the opportunity to work with the various partners involved in compiling the report, and said that he hoped to continue to work closely with Creative Scotland to ensure the development of the Scottish production sector.

“STV has significantly increased its production levels over the past year, building up the skills base in Scotland and helping to showcase Scotland and its work both across the UK and globally,” he continued.

“Taggart, for example, is a major employer in our industry and is well known brand internationally, bringing Scotland to the world.”

He paid tribute to the amount of talent working in Scottish production and said that he hoped that STV would be involved in any ‘positive plans’ that develop going forward.
