Kent County Council is set to tender for a framework contract for the sponsorship of its assets.

The framework, once in place, will initially be for use by Kent County Council, but will become accessible by members of the Pro 5 Group, members of the South East Improvement and Efficiency Partnership and all public bodies, third sector organisations, academic centres and publicly funded organisations.

The sponsorship scheme will include assets such as roundabouts and boundaries, with a marketing agency set to secure and administer the commercial sponsorship of the sites on the council’s behalf.

The council has around 200 possible roundabout sites, although some districts still have sponsorship schemes in place, and until these come up for renewable, 100 locations will be available for the scheme, of which 50 are already sponsored.

Verges will also be made available for sponsorship, as will the 38 Kent boundary signs and other signs which are not exclusively owned by the council, such as gateway signs to towns and villages.

Other council assets may be included under this four-year-contract, including sponsorship of advertising inside and outside Council owned libraries.

The value for the contract is estimated at £536,460.

Time limit for receipt of tenders is 12 October and should be done so through the Council’s online business portal site.
