David Cameron’s media adviser has been accused of discussing unlawful news-gathering techniques and “encouraging” the illegal intercept of voicemail messages during his time as editor of the News of the World.
Coulson was forced to resign from the paper in January 2007, despite protesting his ignorance, after the tabloids royal correspondent, Clive Goodman, was jailed for phone hacking.
Former colleagues allege that illegal techniques such as these were used by other journalists and that Coulson was directly aware of their use and indeed actively encouraged them. One unnamed reporter said: “The office cat knew.”
Coulson stated at the time that Goodman had been sole perpetrator of the illicit activity and the News of the World described the reports as “unsubstantiated.”
The article also brought detailed allegations against the Metropolitan police force, suggesting the latter had been a light touch on Rupert Murdoch’s newspaper group by withholding evidence from prosecutors and failing to inform victims of the crimes against them.

They seem a perfect fit to me.
If Coulson didn't know what was going on, he should have done
