McCann Erickson Manchester has hired Lime Pictures' Darren Minshall as the agency's new 'people director', with a brief to help attract and retain staff.
Minshall, who has also worked for Bauer Media during a decade in HR, has been given a brief to help attract and retain staff. The agency currently employs 250 people, the bulk at its Prestbury base.
He said: "My role will be to support McCann Manchester in attracting, retaining and developing the best possible talent and clearly establish us as a destination employer."
Chief executive Sue Little added: "Darren will be working to make sure the Agency continues to be in great shape for the future.
"It's a tough economic climate out there but we have some very exciting opportunities ahead of us so we need to make sure we have the best talent and that our team is raring to go."

"help attract and retain staff" - When they made people redundant 2 weeks ago why would they need help to retain staff? Isn't the annual graduate 'hire and fire' part of the life at McCanns?
I bet when he says to you "We have to let you go" he does it in a nice way
When I was at McCann's people would get hired and fired at a terrific rate, some people would simply disappear. I've never worked at a place that consumes human resources at such a rate. No wonder they have a dedicated recruiting manager! lol
