An exhibition featuring new versions of classic album covers is to launch on Saturday, featuring contributions from Sir Paul Smith, Ian Anderson from The Designers Republic and Richard Hawley.

Cover Version will be hosted at Pete McKee’s Month of Sunday’s Gallery in Sheffield, featuring artists' own interpretations of a significant album of their choice. They will be displayed alongside the original and with supportive text to outline why they have chosen it.

Some of the albums included are from The Jam, Neil Young, Pink Floyd, Public Enemy and Van Morrison, while artist Pete McKee has created his own version of Jimi Hendrix’s Eclectic Ladyland, re-named as Electric Landlady (pictured).

 “This exhibition has really fired people’s imaginations," McKee said. "Music is so embedded in the psyche that most people, given the chance, relish the opportunity to create something that demonstrates their own personal relationship with a favourite piece of music.

"Not only does the exhibition showcase a wide variety of styles, but also an eclectic range of musical tastes, all fused with the artists own personalities."
