The Liverpool One shopping complex has appointed McCann Manchester and Weber Shandwick North to handle its advertising and PR respectively.

The sister agencies, both part of the Interpublic Group, pitched for the accounts separately in a four-stage process.

Their brief is to revitalise the Liverpool One brand and regenerate interest among would-be visitors. The marketing budget is estimated at £1.5m.

Incumbent media buyer, Manchester-based MediaVest, will continue to handle that side of the business.

McCanns says it has deployed a team of 11 to work on the account, led by managing partner Dave Donaghue. Weber Shandwick's consumer account director Hayley Corbett will work alongside MD Jo Leah on PR.
