An educational website aimed at football players and fans of all ages has been created to bridge the growing divide between Premiership players and their fans.
Football4football.com has been developed by Pixel8, which was appointed to build a fully content managed site and also created the site’s logo and branding.
Video clips feature Manchester United’s Ryan Giggs talking about football boots and supplements and Manchester City’s Nigel de Jong encouraging kids to finish school and also revealing his love of pasta.
Scotland captain Darren Fletcher also talks about the importance of his dad’s support, with new video content from other footballers, coaches, sports dieticians and physios set to be added regularly.
The site features sections on nutrition, training, injuries and equipment and is free to registered users.
Jamie Watson, joint managing director of Pixel8 explained that the site offered young players and fans real insight into the professional sport.
“We have created a brand and built a site that is easily accessible to everyone from the six-year-old who plays for his primary school up parents and grandparents of footie mad teenagers,” he added.
Dean Gorré, the former Ajax and Feyenoord midfielder who has been involved in the site’s development from the start, said that it offered a unique platform for top players and other participants in the game to give something back.
“Visitors to the site will see top names talking candidly in exclusive interviews about subjects important to young fans, players and their parents.”
