A free-to-download iPhone app designed as a personal guide of Edinburgh by crime novelist Ian Rankin has been developed by MMT Digital.

The 'Ian Rankin’s Edinburgh' app, which launched last month, aims to give the user an insight into the city which inspires Rankin’s writing and includes videos, audio content and exclusive content featuring images of the city, with the tour consisting of three-mini tours which take in thirty locations included in the author’s books.

The photography has been taken exclusively for the app which includes a preview of Rankin’s next novel as well as a fact file on the city.

This is an excellent app, with some great features. As you would expect it is centred around the 'Ian Rankin Edinburgh'. We have also found the Digi-guide Edinburgh a great addition to this app. It contains many more points of interest in audio, picture and text format and it is GPS enabled with a full off-line map of the city. As the Ian Rankin app is free, why not download the Digi-guide Edinburgh app to compliment your visit to the City of Edinburgh?
