Apple is facing demands to remove its latest app from sale after the Italian tourism minister, Michela Vittoria Brambilla, took umbrage at the ‘What Country’ apps depiction of her country.

Brambilla slammed the travel guide after it summed up the Mediterranean state as the home of “pizza, the Mafia and scooters” alongside an image of a road sign which read, ‘Mafia parking only: All others will be dealt with.’

Describing this depiction as “offensive and unacceptable” the Minister has instructed government lawyers to take legal action against Apple in a bid to have the application removed from sale.

Italy wasn’t the only nation to be given such disparaging treatment though; Britain is stereotyped by “tea, weird sense of humour, football hooligans and rain” whilst, predictably, the Germans are labeled with “beer, discipline and autobahns.”
