D&AD is disgracefull for tokenism when it comes to the regions. It always has been.
I've experienced first hand the arrogance and lack of enthusiasm they have if they even have to divert their attention away from London.
Sanky is a good guy, and it's great to see digital at the forefront of the organisation.
But D&AD has little value these days in a globally democratic world where great work rises to the top and is respected through social media rather than D&AD telling us what is truly great.
I for one have well and truly lost faith.

"The education department is always trotting about outside london."

That quote alone means I'll be writing a letter very soon revoking my membership.
