The winners of this year's Shot Up North (SUN) photography awards were announced at the Design and Innovation Centre in Leeds last night.

The SUN awards look to reward the best professional photography taken within the regions of the UK.

The SUN Award for Best Image:

Joint 3rd    ‘Reeds’                                  Davis, Edinburgh

               ‘Ray’s Lido - Three’               Nick Dunmur, Kirkby in Ashfield

Merit        ‘Trees in Mist’                       Kate Abbey, Greenhow     

Merit        ‘Semana Santa’                      Tim Hetherington, Manchester

Merit        ‘Undead’                              Willie Runte, Manchester

Merit        ‘Funland’                              McCoy / Wynne, Liverpool

 

Best use of image:

The winners of SUN-MOTION award were:

 

SUN-MOTION Movie of the Year – ‘Seven Sins’ Directed by Martin Brent, Birmingham

2nd – ‘Longdown’ Directed by Tony Lendill, Leeds

3rd – ‘Newcastle College’ Directed by Johnny Carr, Batley
