Swiss sportswear brand Burrda has appointed Cheshire agency Origin to handle an integrated creative campaign.
Burrda is already known to fans of Watford, Wolves and Leicester City football clubs as their shirt sponsor, and it also provides kits for rugby's Llanelli Scarlets and the UK National Handball Team.
But it wants to grow its brand further and, following a competitive tender, has tasked Origin with creating a campaign including TV advertising, press and outdoor media as well as POS materials.
The agency's first task will be to develop the creative strategy and produce global brand guidelines under the brand’s mission "Challenge yourself".
Origin's creative director, Matt Casey, said: "Our task is to ensure that the brand continues to grow and becomes known in many more markets. 'Challenge yourself' is a great way of communicating the brand's values, and we will be translating this to a creative campaign which broadens the appeal of this challenger brand.
"We'll create a new strategy which will drive the business forwards as a new leader in the sport sector
Burrda's head of marketing, Natalie Brown, added: "Burrda was launched just three years ago and the brand has grown incredibly quickly. We want it to become a leading sports brand by challenging established players by creating new and exciting performance sportswear using the highest quality materials adapted for the local environment.
"We have asked Origin to develop an integrated campaign which will take our mission and values to a much wider audience in all the markets where we are already established or intend to have a significant presence."
Burrda, which is also kit provider to the Qatar, Kuwait and Belgium national football teams, appointed Smoking Gun PR to help it launch into the UK market in the summer.
