Calendar company Danilo has been working with Manchester design agency Pixel8 as it looks to become the "Moonpig for calendars".

Pixel8 has created the personalise.com brand and website for the company as it moves into selling personalised calendars and greetings cards online.

The agency said the site has to appeal to a wide consumer audience as it features calendars - ranging from Hello Kitty to footballers - aimed at all ages and both genders.

It created back-end software that produces print-ready artwork once the calendar has been personalised.

Jamie Watson, joint managing director at Pixel8, said: "Danilo realised there was a gap in the market for personalised calendars, so we have set them up to become the Moonpig of that market.

“Pixel8 has helped Danilo to produce its award winning licensed calendars for the last decade and was well placed to help them diversify with this exciting new brand."

Family business Danilo produced its first design - an Elvis calendar - 32 years ago and is today licensed to produce official calendars for major football clubs, Top Gear and Glee among others.
