McCann Erickson Manchester has lost its grip on the Durex and Scholl advertising accounts after brand owner Reckitt Benckiser decided to move UK and global ad duties into its lead agency Euro RSCG Worldwide.
McCann Manchester has worked on the condom company's UK account for more than a decade but its position has been in doubt ever since Reckitt Benckiser acquired Durex and Scholl owner SSL in the summer.
Despite the uncertainty McCann's work had continued, with the agency taking Scholl back on TV this summer and launching a new brand signature for Durex at the start of this month.
McCann said it would continue to work with SSL over the "next few months" to ensure a "smooth and efficient transfer" of the accounts.
In a statement given to The Drum, an agency spokesperson said: “We are tremendously proud of the work we have undertaken for SSL and its key brands in a relationship that extends over more than ten years.
"Our health and wellbeing business already has a robust new business pipeline with a number of strong opportunities already identified and progressing well for 2011."

Ooof, I bet that hurt.
How many 'big' accounts left at Bonis Hall (Aldi? Olympics?)
Sad day - the guys at Mccann's have done some great work over the years - looks like an operational decision, not a creative one, which is a big shame.
I'm sure there is a reason (in much the same way that Toyota consolidated it's marketing efforts to a few central agencies) - and it's probably lositical/financial rather than anything. Shame - that last lot of Durex work on here was very nice.
