Energy supplier E.On has announced plans to team up with Microsoft, Mirror Group and IPC Media to produce a web only TV series advising how to save on their energy bills.

Energy Fit Street stars three families taking part in the documentary style series, with video diaries documenting various attempts to save energy.

Produced by MediaCom and MSN subsidiary FMG the six figure campaign will be hosted by MSN from December 14 and will be backed up by feature advertorials in the Mirror, Women’s Own and Now magazines.

This promotional activity will include crossover into Facebook, Youtube and Twitter as E.On seek to promulgate their message across a diverse range of media platforms.

The campaign is the latest facet of E.On’s “Energy Fit” promotion, which has been running since last May.

Catherine Woolfe, head of advertising and brand strategy at E.On, added that the firm would accelerate their development of mobile platforms in 2011.  Woolfe said: “We’re looking at expanding into mobile. We lack an iPhone app, so we’ll be looking to develop one in the new year.”
