A digital marketing campaign to promote the breadth and quality of paintings held in museums and galleries across Yorkshire is to be created by Sumo.

The three month ‘Yorkshire’s Favourite Painting’ campaign from the Newcastle creative agency will ask the public to choose their favourite painting from a shortlist of 100 pieces, including works by Francis Bacon, Bridget Riley, Paul Nash and L.S. Lowry, and will be given the chance to own a copy of the painting of their choice too.

Beginning in January, the campaign will run across, press, outdoor and guerilla marketing to direct people to the website, where the can sign up and share their opinions.

Five museums and galleries across Yorkshire will be involved in the campaign and will also be able to promote the event within their own venues and collect votes and comments through ballot boxes.

Anita Morris Associates will work alongside Sumo on PR for the campaign.
