The Manchester Confidential website has hired SEO agency theEword to bump it up the search engine rankings.

Confidential, which offers a mixture of local news, reviews and competitions, has "never invested" in a search strategy previously but is now looking to "boost performance" on search engines such as Google.

The site claims it received 155,417 unique visitors in September this year and is hoping for more with Manchester-based theEword manning its search strategy.

Al Mackin, managing director of theEword, said: "This magazine is a true Manchester institution and we plan to take it to the next level by using our skills and knowledge to attract more and more readers from search engines."
