Argyll and Bute Council has established a print services framework to produce its range of printed material.

The framework will include the printing of the council’s leaflets, brochures, strategy documents, banners, posters, flyers and other branded marketing material.

Print was, until now, purchased by individual service areas from a local print supplier but the council has now decided to centralize its print buying activities to produce ‘more professionally printed material’ and to build stronger relationships with print companies, while also reducing its costs with ad hoc buying.

10 offers were received for the framework tender.

Those appointed to the framework across several lots are John Mccormick & Co, G&H Print Services, Printwell Limited, Communisisa, Mackay & Inglis, Ricoh Uk Limited - Print And Document Services, Streamline Print and Core Image.

So ten companies tendered, and 8 get on the roster. How much time, money and effort was spent carrying out that exercise?
