New website for Leeds Bradford Airport

New website for Leeds Bradford AirportNew website for Leeds Bradford Airport

A new website has been launched for Leeds Bradford Airport (LBA), as part of its brand strategy to enhance its online experience for passengers.

The site was created by digital agency 3Sixty which was briefed to develop a more user friendly site with the aim of increasing web traffic and improving commercial opportunities online to drive revenue.

The site now offers passengers the opportunity to receive e-discounts through pre-booking for car parking, the Yorkshire Premier Lounge and also fast track through security.

Holiday insurance can also be purchased through the airport’s site for the first time, while arrival and departure time is available through a live feed on the homepage.

Tony Hallwood, commercial director for LBA, explained: “Our aim was to design a user friendly website which maximises commercial opportunities offered by digital and online marketing.  Essential airport and travel information are now presented in an easy to access and dynamic way.  It’s a massive step forward and the new home page advertising slots will be an attractive addition for existing and potential commercial partners. The introduction of links to social media sites are already proving a popular addition.”

Chris Thurling managing director of 3Sixty, commented: “Leeds Bradford now has a website that does justice to its status as one of the UK’s leading regional airports. We have put in place a solid and scalable technical platform that will allow the airport to build on this initial investment over the next few years. We are really proud of Leeds Bradford’s new site and we look forward to carrying on our work with Tony Hallwood and his team in 2011.”

I bet £10 that the person who commented below isn't a web designer. You can just tell.

And the person who created this site isn't a designer of any description. You can just tell that too.

I have to agree with 10:45's comment. It's just another example of IT getting involved in something they shouldn't.

think sometimes you have to sacrifice design a little for such heavily content managed /dynamic sites - properly been stripped right back through creative / client process.

Well, whatever you think of the site......at least the planes are taking off which is more than can be said of most of the other 'big' airports, so well done LBA!!!!

It's a service. People who may be on the move need information and fast. Well done. I'm sure the fast loading site will work on any device and meet accessibility requirements due to it's non-reliance on graphics for text or unnecessary design elements etc. Customers will leave the site happy and that's what matters. The most beautiful thing a customer sees is finding what they want. Ignore the unqualified naysayers. Great websites rarely win design awards.
