Introducing guest editor Tony Foggett

Introducing guest editor Tony FoggettIntroducing guest editor Tony Foggett

Meet Tony Foggett, managing director of digital agency Code Computerlove and for one day guest editor of thedrum.co.uk...

Happy Christmas and all that. Boy, if I never see another ‘We saved the money and gave it to charity' Christmas e-card again it will be too soon. Bah humbug! It's all junk mail to me, and perhaps that sets the context for some of the things I’m going to be picking out today...

In a digital world the consumer controls the exchange and brands can only achieve their objectives if they combine them with those of their audiences. The stuff I love actually creates value, not noise - whether that be entertainment, fulfilling a need or enhancing a consumer's life in some way.

I guess if you are reading this then you probably fit into one of two camps: Camp A - at work enjoying the opportunity to actually get some work done while everyone else is on holiday; or Camp B - On Holiday, working. Either way you have my sympathy, and as you should probably be doing something else I’ll keep things brief...

Today I have chosen a selection of things that have caught my eye throughout this year - app and campaign launches, technology and marketing stories - and made a couple of predictions about things I’m looking forward to in 2011. I hope you enjoy the distraction.
