Birmingham Post Lite, the free newspaper launched by Trinity Mirror in Birmingham nine months ago has been suspended from publication.

The sister newspaper to The Birmingham Post was launched as a ‘spoiler paper’ just ahead of rival new title, The Birmingham Press, as the two fought out a battle for the lucrative property advertising marketing within the city.

The Birmingham Press closed after six months, with debts in excess of £343,000.
Launch figures for the Birmingham Post Lite claimed that it would reach around 18,000 homes around Birmingham, but the title has not been published since before Christmas, with Trinity Mirror now confirming that it has ‘suspended’ the publication.
The news follows yesterday’s announcement that Trinity Mirror has also ceased publishing the print edition of its Scottish free business title, Business7.
