Automotive brand Vauxhall has appointed McCann Erickson Central to oversee its aftersales business.
The Birmingham-creative business, appointed following a seven-way-pitch, will handle the above-and-below-the-line advertising, as well as POS, advertising, digital and direct mail for Vauxhall’s service bodyshop and accessory channels across the company’s 500 UK dealerships.
Dean Lovett, CEO of McCann Erickson Central, said: “It really bears testament to the standard of the work McCann is already doing for Vauxhall that they have extended our contract significantly.
“It’s a fantastic start to our New Year. We couldn’t be prouder to be working for Vauxhall at such an exciting time for the brand, given their recent pledge to sponsor all home nations FA activity.”
This follows the appointment of McCann Erickson Birmingham to Vauxhall’s Retail, brand and accessories business, the largest account won by the agency.
Andrew Curley, Aftersales marketing manager for Vauxhall, said: “McCann Erickson Central’s experience in the automotive industry was integral to its successful pitch last year – and the team’s subsequent work on our Retail, Brand and Accessories business has proven that their market leading reputation is well earned, as is this latest win and their rightful place as one of Vauxhall’s most significant marketing partners.”

a seven-way-pitch? slags!
Well at least one of McCann's is doing well! I bet Dean is just loving those group meetings now!
"So, Dean, are there any other opportunities with GM you could explore?"
"No, I think I have won them all, sorry"
"Ok, well done old chap! So, Sue..."

Big congrats to the Dean, John, Paul and the team - pitch winning machine appears to be on a role.
Ha what a surprise, why bother even going through the charade or pretence that it was a pitch, hope the other agencies didn't spend to much time or money on it.
Vauxhall, stop wasting other peoples time and money, they can't turn round to the governments for bail outs like you can when you can't turn a profit on making cars!
I know it is difficult to swallow but it was a genuine pitch.
