Ryanair Denmark ad is grounded

Ryanair Denmark ad is groundedRyanair Denmark ad is grounded

A Ryanair ad promoting flights to Denmark has been banned by the Advertising Standards Authority for “misleading” travellers.

The promotion depicted a young child grasping a pile of leaves in a forest to depict “family fun” at the Legoland Billund Resort.

However the advert also stated that £9 flights were available between November and January, despite the fact that the resort operated reduced hours during November and December and was closed completely in January.

In their defence Ryanair stated that the text had been supplied by Visit Denmark, who had approved the copy before the promotional dates had been finalised.

Nevertheless the discrepancy was deemed misleading by the ASA after they received a complaint and the ad has been banned in its current form.

I presume there would be a fifty quid supplement for using their leaves. Or maybe the lad's just collecting bog roll for the flight home.
