Rumours have begun to circulate that the long-awaited BBC iPlayer app could be ready to enter into existence.
The app is expected to be developed for iOS devices and work across iPod, iPad and iPhone, and could be released as soon as February.
The development of the app was announced almost a year ago, and was expected to be released at some stage last year, but never materialised due to the BBC Trust examining the merits of releasing it.
As to whether an app will be developed for Google Android, it seems unlikely that the launch of one is imminent.
The BBC has recently announced plans to cut its digital offering by 25% by 2014, losing hundreds of websites in the process.

Android has the flash player though, why make an app for it when you can quite easily access iplayer though the browser.
Good news because streaming it on an iphone through the safari browser is flakier than a bowl of crushed corn cereal.
