This week’s most popular Chip Show Award advert is a press campaign for music retailer HMV, featuring a host of dead celebrities.

Voted the best advert on the Chip Shop Awards website this week by users of the site, the campaign, devised by twenty-six digital, received a nomination at last year’s ceremony for ‘Best use of bad taste’.

The ad features the film posters of celebrities such as Michael Jackson, Heath Ledger and Brittany Murphy, who died as a result of drug-useage, and features the headline ‘Overdose on entertainment’ in the familiar style of an HMV sale poster.

Every week the Chip Shop Awards invites users to vote for their favourite piece of creative work to be named Ad of the Week from previous years and last week saw a campaign for E45 skin care featuring jelly babies take the plaudits.

Meanwhile, entries for this year’s Chip Shop Awards should be made before 18 March.
