VisitScotland is set to see its funding cut by £400,000 as part of council budget savings being made across Scotland.

The tourism organisation will be hit by the £60 million savings being made in Scotland over the next financial year, despite tourism being pinpointed as one of the key revenue generating streams for economic recovery.

The news follows VisitBritain’s recent announcement of impending job losses of around 70 and a change in strategy for its marketing strategies abroad, while having it’s targets in revenue generation increased by £2 billion.
