Peter Saville's Manchester City Council future could be decided by next week

It is thought that the future of Manchester City Council’s creative director Peter Saville could be resolved as early as next week.

Following news that the future of Saville’s £120,000-a-year role was under review by the council amid widespread budget cuts, a spokesperson for the council has said that more news maybe forthcoming ‘by the end of next week’.

Saville has worked with the council in a consultancy capacity since 2004 having built a heady reputation in the design industry for his work on record sleeves and posters for Factory Records.

His work for the city has seen him develop the big 'M' identity and the line 'original modern.' He has also branded specific districts within the city as well as getting involved with projects such as the design of a limited edition Manchester Christmas paper.
