Not sure I agree with the Napier conclusion that the more Facebook friends you have the more anxious you get. Their research sample was drawn from one demographic - their students. So you can not argue their findings apply to the population as a whole. Also it depends on how people actually use Facebook. Suspect it's 500m odd users applynit in far more areas than simply trying to keep in touch with family and real friends. The bottom line is that the dynamic of Facebook relationships are still emerging and it is too soon to draw any firm conclusions about how it actualy impacts on an average peson's emotional state.
