Working with the Thorntons in-house design team, Purple Circle commissioned illustrator Johanna Basford to create an illustration which would lead the Thornton's 100th Birthday celebration in 2011.

The brief was to create an illustrated explosion of all things confectionary, intrinsically linked to the story of Thorntons and a visual representation of their 100 year history.

The illustration will be used across a wide variety of applications from packaging to point of sale. To accommodate this, Basford worked with Purple Circle to create one main illustration which can be stripped back to form 2 smaller extracted sections. The artwork can be used in its entirety, or in one of the two smaller formats depending on the application.
