Chip Shop Award ad of the week: 'Taxidermy'Chip Shop Award ad of the week: 'Taxidermy'

This week’s Chip Shop Award Advert of this week is a spoof advert for The Proper Insurance Company, which encourages the death of rival brand mascots including the beloved opera singer from Go Compare as well as Churchill and Aleksander the Meerkat.

The online advert, ‘Taxidermy’ has been entered into the Invent Your Own Category section of this year’s Chip Shop Awards by the University of Creative Arts, Farnham. The University has created the ‘Best excuse to kill those 'bloody annoying' ad characters that just don't know when to shut up’ category, with each insurance brand mascot’s head mounted on a wall.

The online advert was the favourite amongst users of the Chip Shop Awards website, in which creative entries are reviewed, with the top ranking each week being named ‘Chip Shop Award Ad of the Week’.

Entries for this year’s Chip Shop Awards will be accepted until Friday 18 March and with more information available through the Chip Shop Awards website.

Not sure of the art direction but the idea is sound. Well done.
