Twitter users are being asked to help compile the 'world's shortest recipe book' by suggesting recipes in just 140 characters.

The campaign has been created by Umpf on behalf of its client Belling, the UK cooker manufacturer.

The best recipe suggestions they receive will be printed in the Tweet Pie cookery book which will be published later this year and solid in aid of the FoodCycle charity.

Craig Dugas from @tinyrecipes, who will be one of the judges deciding which recipes make the book, said: “140 character recipes are tiny cookery adventures.

"An entire dish can be created by someone that may have never tried it before, all from a recipe that's about the length of one sentence.”

To stand a chance of making the 'twecipe' book Twitter users need to tweet their recipe alongside the hashtag #Tweetpie. The organisers have included some examples for Roast Beef, Spaghetti Bolognese and Risotto:
