Fifth Pecha Kucha Sheffield event to raise money for Japanese disasterThe fifth Pecha Kucha event being held in Sheffield will raise money for the event’s founding country Japan following the recent Earthquake and Tsunami.
The event for the city’s creative industry will take place at Sheffield University Students Union, and will include street dancers and beat-boxers, as well as Sheffield artist Pete McKee (pictured) who will speak at the event.
Money will be raised on the evening for Shelter Box, a charity which provides boxes of provisions for ten people affected by natural disasters, who will be aiding people in Japan from the recent natural disasters.
Jonny Douglas, an organiser of Pecha Kucha Sheffield, commented: “We've really have pushed what we're doing with this one...our most diverse range of presenters who are just going to blow you away, a brilliant venue, live music, DJ...the great PK crowd we get coming down, it's going to be quite a show!”
