McCann Erickson Central has formally announced the appointment of Jamie Buckingham as its new senior art director.

Buckingham was previously creative director with Rave, and has won a number of creative awards at the Roses, Cannes Lions, Fresh and Cream Awards.

He is the first appointment on recently appointed executive creative director Vince McSweeney’s list of creatives that he advertised last month in The Drum.

“Jamie brings some great skills, dynamic thinking and a weighty portfolio of award-winning work to McCann and we can’t wait for him to get started!” said McSweeney.

Prior to working at Rave, Buckingham worked for Bray Leino before moving to McCann’s Bristol, and then Gret Advertising and Euro RSCG in Sydney.

He leaves Rave after four years, with the agency now understood to be speaking to potential successors.

So that's one name crossed out on 'the list'. Me thinks they have been knocked back in their search for a writer since all the local recruitment consultants are on to that one.
