The Dulux dog, hairy mascot of the paint firm, is to make a TV comeback in celebration of the brands 50th anniversary.

McCann London has been appointed to direct the canine centric production which will hit screens as part of a pre-Easter push.

This is being conducted in conjunction with a Facebook campaign that is encouraging homeowners to consider dabbling in interior decoration.

Spud the sheepdog first appeared on the paint firms advertising back in 1961, a position he held until 2003.

Sadly for Spud’s fans however this will be a one off campaign with the dog returning to retirement following the campaigns conclusion.
