Connectpoint founder Steve Rodgers has returned to the North West agency scene to open 19, a new creative and post-production facility in the old Connectpoint office.
Rodgers was a familiar face on the region's agency scene throughout the nineties and noughties after founding Connectpoint in 1993.
When his agency became part of the Hasgrove group, Rodgers took on responsibility for identifying acquisition targets for the new group and steering its growth.
He stepped down from Hasgrove's board last year and had been spending time away from agency life in Spain before deciding to make something of the old Connectpoint office.
The number 19 Quay Street building had latterly been occupied by another Hasgrove agency, Amaze, until March last year when it moved out. This left Rodgers with 1,000 square ft of vacant office space on his hands.
He said: "Since Amaze moved out to larger premises I had been thinking how to use it. A number of things came together at once.
"We used the ground floor for a fashion show and it struck me what a great location it was. Then Simon Lewis, from The Gate Films, approached me with the idea of setting up a post-production facility, and at the same time Flipbook Studios enquired about taking space as part of their continued expansion.
"The final piece in the jigsaw was to provide a boardroom, studio and office area where creatives and clients can work and relax."
The building now contains a photographic/film studio, post-production facility and space for freelancers.
