The National Portrait Gallery London has acquired a portrait of Eddi Reader by Edinburgh-based photographers broad daylight for part of its permanent collection.
The Portrait was part of 'As others see us' an exhibition and book project by the team - Tricia Malley and Ross Gillespie - to mark the The Year of Homecoming, the 250th anniversary of the birth of Robert Burns.
Featuring a series of 24 portraits of Scots and adopted Scots prominent in their field, each sitter was asked to produce a small body of text as a response to a Burns quote of their choosing.
Subjects include Peter Howson, Eddi Reader, Kirsty Wark, Hardeep Singh Kohli and Peter Capaldi and, at the time, it was exhibited in 10 venues across Scotland including in the National Galleries Edinburgh.
It was also exhibited in Melbourne as part of Scotland Week.
This is the forth broad daylight portrait to be acquired by the National Portrait Gallery. The Scottish National Portrait Gallery Edinburgh also hold an extensive range of their work in their archives.
