Spotify takes on iTunes with launch of music store

Spotify has this morning announced some changes including a new music download store, posing a challenge to Apple’s iTunes.

The Spotify store is introducing a bundles method of purchase where the more you buy the more it is discounted, so 10 tracks cost £8 whereas 100 tracks will be £50.

The music streaming service is also set to support the iPod range, allowing synchronisation between MP3s in Spotify playlists and Apple devises.

Freemium Spotifiers, who last month saw their service drastically limited to ten hours with a five play maximum on individual tracks, will now be able to wirelessly sync and play their own MP3 playlists on their Apple or Android devices.
