A Dundee based firm which has introduced display ads on cash machines is in the money after signing up Barclays to its ad platform.

Under the deal I-Design will install their adverts on all 4,000 of Barclays UK ATMs and kiosks, taking the firms entire estate to 21,000 cash dispensers.

Barclays will only use the atmAd software for  internal marketing but I-Design has sold space to third parties on nearly 10,000 other machines.

Chief executive Ana Stewart said: “We have invested heavily in this product and we’re excited about how it’s developing. Our key driver is the increase in the number of points where customers can access our system.”

The firm has recently expanded into markets in the US and South America and has signed a deal  with Eurobank in Greece.

Last year the Tayside start up recorded a £1m loss but analysts expect the companies losses to decline to around £300k this year.
